Faith in Action for Cass County Holds Local Meetings – Pine and Lakes Echo Journal

HACKENSACK — Faith in Action for Cass County supports more than 100 community volunteers who are ready to help their neighbors in need throughout Cass County.

It’s easy to sign up by phone or in person. Residents can be of any age or income to receive services, and there are no bills for services, ever.

Donations are encouraged to maintain the program; over 55% of the budget depends on local support.

To learn more about services or volunteering, meet Faith in Action staff and volunteers at local meet-and-greet events.

“Food pantry directors invite local service providers to visit their families,” Theresa Eclov, director of Faith in Action, said in a news release. “The food pantry is a great place to share information about local resources and let people know that help is available.”

Since 2023, Faith in Action has been hosting meetings in many communities. This summer, they met with people from Pine River, Walker, and Longville.

They will be in the Emily Food Shelf exit area from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 17 and at Remer from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on October 24.

Faith in Action volunteers and staff are available to answer questions about transportation, household chores, home repairs, meal delivery, tours, phone support and other services. The organization can also register participants.

Travel and services are available to adults of all ages and children accompanied by their parents or guardians. Priority is given to travel for medical reasons, trips to the grocery store or food aisle, and errands in town.

Advance registration and planning is required.

Faith in Action for Cass County is a local nonprofit that connects community volunteers with people who need help. Volunteers do not provide medical or personal care. Volunteers can choose what, when and how often they want to help, and they receive liability insurance, service coordination, training and travel reimbursement.

Choosing to volunteer with Faith in Action means joining a diverse and committed team that is making a real difference in the lives of Cass County residents. Volunteers have always been at the heart of Faith in Action and play a vital role in delivering services and supporting the work of the organization.
