'I can guarantee it' - Fabrizio Romano gives key update on Manchester United free agent target

Fabrizio Romano has provided a key update on Manchester United’s rumoured move for free agent Adrien Rabiot.

Adrien Rabiot remains a free agent after leaving Juventus at the end of last season.

The French midfielder has been a constant name linked with a move to Old Trafford during Erik ten Hag’s reign, with the former Paris Saint-Germain star set to become a Red Devil in 2022.

However, the project failed due to disagreement over personal conditions and demands of the agents.

The Red Devils have just added quality to their midfield with the signing of Manuel Ugarte on deadline day, but with the futures of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro uncertain, Rabiot has once again been linked with a move to Manchester.

Eriksen has been linked with a move to Anderlecht and Ajax in recent days, but staying at Old Trafford appears to be the most credible option for the Danish midfielder at the moment.

Fabrizio Romano has responded to the latest rumours surrounding Rabiot and Manchester United.

Despite the transfer window being closed, the former Juventus player could be able to move as he is available as a free agent.

However, speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano quickly dismissed the idea of Rabiot joining Ten Hag’s team.

Romano said: “Guys, I can guarantee you that Adrien Rabiot was offered to Manchester United several times during the summer, in July, in August. But Manchester United’s position is always very clear on this point. So they never thought about leaving Eriksen out and Rabiot in.”
