Michael Keaton drops stage name for real name

“I said, ‘Hey, just to let you know, my credit goes to Michael Keaton Douglas.’ And it completely slipped my mind,” he shared. “And I forgot to give them enough time to set it up and create it. But it will happen.”

Keaton is not the first Hollywood star to decide to revert to his birth name in a professional setting. Emma Stonewho coincidentally starred alongside Keaton in Birdmanhad previously announced her intention to revert to her given name, Emily.

“That would be so nice,” she said. The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on April 24. “I wish I was Emily.”

In fact, Stone said several of his colleagues already do so.

“When I know them, the people I work with do it too,” she says. “I panicked a few years ago. For some reason, I thought, ‘I can’t do this anymore. Just call me Emily.’”
