Airlines manage A350-1000 inspections according to safety guidelines

Japan Airlines has announced that it does not anticipate any flight cancellations or delays following inspections requested by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on Airbus A350-1000 engines. The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued the directive following an engine fire involving a Cathay Pacific plane.

Rolls-Royce, the manufacturer of the Trent XWB-97 engines, expressed confidence in its ability to meet inspection requirements, with the support of its supply chain. Although Japan Airlines completed preliminary inspections earlier this week and found no issues, it will conduct additional checks in line with EASA guidance.

Other airlines such as Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have also launched similar inspections. Despite these guidelines, major carriers do not anticipate any significant impacts on their operations. Industry experts point out that the affected parts, manufactured by Parker Hannifin, are expected to require only minor repairs if found to be defective.
