The retired servicemen will get a special festival allowance of Rs 1,000. The retired employees under the contributory pension scheme will also get the special festival allowance.

All state government employees will be entitled to an advance of Rs 20,000 for Onam. Part-time and temporary employees will get an advance of Rs 6,000.

Employees of all categories, including contract workers and pensionable workers who received the festival allowance last year, will continue to receive it at the same rate this year as well.

More than 13 lakh employees and workers will benefit from this special Onam assistance. Despite the financial difficulties faced by the state due to the central government’s policies, the government has decided not to cut the Onam benefits for employees. All the allowances given last year will be available again this time.
