Metro officials consider changing parking meters

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Changes could be coming to Nashville’s parking meters.

The Traffic and Parking Commission will consider a proposal at its meeting next Monday. Instead of a two-hour parking limit, parking meters could extend to 10 hours.

The hourly rate would increase after two hours, but drivers would have the option to stay in the space and pay the higher rate until the tenth hour.

Areas of the city with fewer parking spaces would also benefit from lower rates.
