Bear Paw Coffee Announces Search for New Owners – Post Bulletin

BYRON — After two and a half years, Bear Paw Coffee in Byron is looking for a new owner.

An announcement about the difficult decision was posted on Facebook on Thursday, September 5. Current owners Angie and Garritt Clark attributed the sudden announcement to “their primary career, family needs and future aspirations.” The Clarks have no plans to close the business, but are ready to move on.

The Clarks were keen to make it clear that they would be patient in their search for a buyer. They are proud of the business they have built and want to ensure it is passed on to a good owner, which is why they have made such a public announcement.

“The decision to do this was not an easy one to make, and those who have ventured into small business can certainly relate to the ups and downs of this journey, especially in recent years,” the Clarks said in their Facebook post. “We are fortunate to say that the ups and downs far outweigh the downs when it comes to this little shop that we envisioned and created, and that is what makes it so difficult for us. We truly feel that we have achieved our dream of bringing something to Byron that the community wanted and needed, so we are proud, satisfied and grateful. We want nothing more than to see Bear Paw continue and thrive in our local community.”

They look forward to the next chapter of their business and are grateful for the continued support of the community.
