Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at a northeast Lincoln home early Saturday morning that caused more than $100,000 in damage, according to LFR spokesman MJ Lierman.

LFR responded to a residence near North 56th and Knox streets around 12:20 a.m. following a report of a fire, Lierman said.

The occupants inside managed to evacuate the house without being injured.

Crews extinguished the fire quickly after arriving, Lierman said.

LFR estimates damage at $100,000 to the structure and $30,000 to the contents of the house.

The building became uninhabitable due to the damage, forcing the family to move.
