Shooting incident near Interstate 75 in London, Kentucky

A shooting occurred near Interstate-75 in London, Kentucky, Saturday night, where multiple people were shot.

The alarming incident began shortly before 6 p.m. (1000 GMT), about 9 miles (14 kilometers) from London, when police responded to reports that several vehicles had been targeted by gunfire on Interstate 75 in Laurel County. The shots were reportedly fired from a wooded area.

London Mayor Randall Weddle urged people on Facebook to avoid I-75 near Exit 49 and take alternate routes. Police have yet to apprehend the suspect. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear confirmed the incident on X (formerly Twitter), advising residents to stay away while more details are gathered.
