Rahul Gandhi slams India’s unfair elections, coalition collapse

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged that the recent general elections in India were not held on a level playing field, which he said broke the concept of ‘Modi’.

Gandhi, who is currently visiting the United States, made the remarks at Georgetown University. In his speech, he said the ruling coalition had collapsed. “It’s not just the prime minister, it’s deeper than that,” he said, referring to the alleged rift.

He also accused the electoral process of being unfair and heavily controlled, suggesting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had significant financial and procedural advantages. “The Election Commission was biased and the entire campaign was designed to favour Modi,” Gandhi alleged.
