Real Madrid’s Reported Target Player Admits He ‘Must’ Consider European Return, But Real Never On List

Aymeric Laporte has admitted he “must” consider a return to Europe if it was offered to him, but there has been “no approach” from Real Madrid despite the links.

Laporte spent the last year in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr. The centre-back left Europe after five-and-a-half years at Manchester City – where he won 15 trophies – as one of the continent’s best defenders.

During his time in Saudi Arabia, his technical level remained high, with him missing just one game for Spain in their triumphant Euro 2024 campaign.

As a result, during the summer, rumors circulated about a transfer to Real Madrid.

The La Liga champions have lost Nacho Fernandez on a free transfer and are reportedly looking to strengthen their defence.

It has been reported that an offer has been made for Laporte.

However, the defender himself denied that such a thing happened.

Laporte denies any link with Real Madrid

“There was nothing, no approach,” he said. Brand.

But it seems he is hoping for an approach from a European team.

After 43 games with Al-Nassr, Laporte suggests he would like to return to Europe.

Laporte eyes European return

“In Saudi Arabia, I am far from my usual environment and my family,” he said.

“I might consider coming back to Europe in the future. If an offer comes in, we’ll have to consider it.”

His market value doesn’t appear to be particularly high after his move to the Middle East, so Laporte could well be an attainable target.

At 30, he should still have a few years of football ahead of him.

And as he feels he still has the means in Europe – and he showed that at the Euros – he could well be offered the chance to return.
