Man charged with murder at southeast Houston apartment complex

A man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at an apartment complex in southeast Houston.

Regell Aron Tillis, 64, has been charged with murder.

The shooting happened around midnight at an apartment complex at 12000 Martin Luther King Blvd. A man alerted authorities after finding his roommate shot. When paramedics arrived, the victim was pronounced dead.

Four people were reportedly in the apartment at the time of the shooting. Two of them left the scene before Houston police arrived, and the third was the first to report the shooting.

The identity of the 52-year-old victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Detectives learned that Tillis was at a nearby apartment complex and were able to arrest the suspect in the unit.
