Jon Bon Jovi helps ‘distraught’ woman off edge of Nashville bridge | Ents & Arts News

Rock legend Jon Bon Jovi was filmed helping a “distraught” woman off the edge of a bridge in Nashville.

According to reports, the American singer was filming a music video for his band’s song “The People’s House” on the John Seigenthaler pedestrian bridge when the woman was spotted on the other side of the barriers.

CCTV footage, shared by local police, shows the Bon Jovi singer and a woman walking in the middle of the bridge on Tuesday evening.

They then slowly approach the distressed woman before the singer leans on the railing and appears to begin speaking to her.

The woman Bon Jovi was walking with is seen patting the person’s back as she encourages him to return to safety.

They are then seen helping the woman back over the railing.

Bon Jovi then hugs her as they stand together for about a minute before walking back down the bridge together.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shared the video on its YouTube channel and said the singer helped a “distraught woman.”

In a message posted on social media platform X, police wrote: “A big thank you to @jonbonjovi and his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthal pedestrian bridge on Tuesday evening.

“Bon Jovi helped persuade her to climb down from the edge of the Cumberland River to safety.”

The singer’s JBJ Soul Foundation provides support to people struggling with homelessness and hunger. The 62-year-old music icon has reportedly undergone extensive training to speak to people in crisis.
