Arkansas Baseball Team Announces 2025 Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE — The 2025 Arkansas baseball schedule will feature games against five of the last seven programs to win national championships and rematches against teams that won NCAA regionals in Fayetteville the past two seasons.

Arkansas is scheduled to open the season on Feb. 14 with the first of a four-game series against Washington State at Baum-Walker Stadium. The Razorbacks are also scheduled to host North Carolina-Charlotte (Feb. 28-March 2) and Portland (March 7-9) in home non-conference series this weekend.

Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, will host Arkansas’ other non-conference weekend. The Razorbacks are scheduled to play Kansas State, TCU and Michigan Feb. 21-23 at the Texas Rangers’ home stadium.

Kansas State won the NCAA Fayetteville Regional last season. TCU won the Fayetteville Regional in 2023. Arkansas was a top-5 national seed both years.

The Razorbacks’ SEC schedule begins with a March 14-16 series at Ole Miss. Arkansas is also scheduled to play SEC series at Vanderbilt, Georgia, Florida and LSU.

Arkansas’ home series in the SEC will be played against South Carolina, Missouri, Texas A&M, Texas and Tennessee.

The 2025 season will be the SEC’s first season with 16 teams, after the addition of Oklahoma and Texas to the league. The schedule format has been changed to eliminate divisions and several long-standing annual matchups.

Arkansas will now only play Missouri and Ole Miss each year in the SEC. Missouri will travel to Fayetteville for the second straight season due to the schedule reset.

Dave Van Horn, Arkansas’ coach of 23 years, will face several former assistants in the schedule. Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello (2014-17), Georgia head coach Wes Johnson (2017-18) and Arkansas-Little Rock head coach Chris Curry (2009-10) are former Razorbacks assistants.

Other connections include Tennessee assistant coach Josh Elander, a volunteer coach with the Razorbacks in 2017, and Tennessee support staff member Luke Bonfield, who played at Arkansas from 2015-18.

“The fans are going to love who we play at home this year,” Van Horn said during an Aug. 16 appearance on the Hawgs Sports Network daily podcast. “As far as championship games, where we play and who we play, I don’t know how you could have 30 games harder than we have, honestly. That’s just the way it is.”

Tennessee will be the defending national champion when the Volunteers come to town. The Vols beat Texas A&M in Game 3 of the College World Series final in June to win the SEC’s fifth straight national championship, following titles by Vanderbilt in 2019, Mississippi State in 2021, Ole Miss in 2022 and LSU in 2023.

Texas will play its first conference series at Arkansas since the Razorbacks’ final year in the Southwest Conference in 1991.

Notable midweek non-conference games for Arkansas include a home-and-away game against Missouri State on March 25 in Fayetteville and April 29 in Springfield, Missouri; a pair of home games against Oral Roberts on March 18-19; and the annual game at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock on April 1 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Some match times were announced on Thursday. TV and streaming information, as well as other start times, will be announced at a later date.

Some dates are subject to change to accommodate TV channels.
