Police: Troy teen arrested twice with loaded gun

A 17-year-old was arrested Wednesday for allegedly possessing a loaded gun for the second time in Troy.

Officers were patrolling the North Central Troy neighborhood after a recent shooting. They found a person standing with a group of people they said had a handgun. He ran away after police approached, but was caught nearby.

He had a gun loaded with 25 rounds of ammunition, police said.

The juvenile was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the juvenile justice system and sent to a juvenile detention center.

This is the second arrest of the suspect in possession of a firearm.
