Three killed and 18-year-old arrested following ‘truly appalling’ incident in Luton

A teenager has been arrested after three people were found dead at a property in Luton on Friday morning.

Police were called at 3.30am after receiving reports of concerns for the welfare of a flat in Leabank and discovered three people injured.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, all three men were pronounced dead at the scene and a murder investigation has been opened.

Shortly afterwards, an 18-year-old man was arrested in Bramingham Road and remains in police custody for questioning.

An investigation has since been launched by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.

Detective Superintendent Rob Hall said: “This is a truly appalling incident which has sadly resulted in the tragic deaths of three people.

“We understand that this news will be incredibly shocking, but please be assured that we will work tirelessly to establish all the circumstances surrounding these deaths.

“A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and we do not believe there is any threat to the wider community.

“However, we recognise that people are concerned, so there will be an increased presence of community policing officers in and around the area today and over the coming days to answer questions and provide reassurance.”
