Director Mike Flanagan announced that there is a new version of his horror film To silence to come. This is a version of the film as the filmmaker originally imagined it.

This new version of To silence It will be a black and white, almost silent version, which should be really cool and interesting to watch.

Flanagan shared the news on X, saying: “The black and white image really ramps up the tension, and the new audio mix, almost entirely devoid of music, is absolutely captivating.

“This is how we originally envisioned the film. The “Shush Cut” of HUSH debuts on September 27th thanks to (Beyond Fest), and we are honored to be a part of such an impressive lineup!”

Hush follows Maddie Young (played by Kate Siegel), a deaf and mute author who lives in a secluded house in the woods. Maddie lost her hearing and ability to speak after a bout of meningitis when she was 13.

She leads a quiet life, working on her novels in solitude, until her peaceful existence is shattered one night by a masked intruder.

The story unfolds as the Masked Man discovers Maddie’s disability and uses it as an advantage in his cruel game. Initially unaware of the danger outside, Maddie soon realizes she is being hunted. With no way to call for help and her home surrounded, she is forced into a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Maddie uses her other senses and quick thinking to fight back, determined to survive the night despite the immense odds.

It’s a great film that relies heavily on visual storytelling and I can’t wait to see this new version.

The film will be released on physical video in the United States on September 5 and will feature the “Shush Cut” in its Collector’s Edition.
