Las Vegas Raiders need to watch these Baltimore Ravens wide receivers

The Las Vegas Raiders will head east to face the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday, hoping to avoid a 0-2 record.

The Raiders lost their season opener to the Los Angeles Chargers, while the Ravens lost a heartbreaking road game to the Kansas City Chiefs.

It’s too early to overreact, but the Raiders’ season outlook doesn’t look good if they fall to 0-2.

To beat a tough Ravens team, the Raiders defense must shut down Lamar Jackson’s pass-catching options. The Ravens have never been known for their passing attack, but they are capable of beating teams through the air.

Let’s focus on three receivers who could cause problems for the Raiders.

Tight end Isaiah Likely – Jackson’s favorite weapon against the Chiefs, Likely, could well have a breakout season.

He probably caught nine passes for 111 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens’ season opener. He was constantly open and made plays after the catch. He got open on a long touchdown run down the sideline that helped the Ravens get back into the game.

The Raiders gave up 46 receiving yards to the Chargers’ top two tight ends, but Likely is better than both of them. He should be a problem for the Raiders’ linebackers, so coach Antonio Pierce and his staff need to know what No. 80 is going to do.

Receiver Rashod Bateman – The former first-round pick has dealt with injuries throughout his career, but when healthy, Bateman can have a major impact on the game.

Bateman caught two passes for 53 yards in Week 1 and has 1,220 yards and four touchdowns in his career. He has solid size and athleticism that could pose problems for the Raiders defense.

Bateman is finally healthy and can now develop some chemistry with Jackson. If that happens, he will give the Raiders another target to watch.

Receiver Zay Flowers – The Ravens’ leading receiver last season, Flowers is poised for another big season.

Flowers caught six passes for 37 yards last week, looking to echo his rookie performance of 858 yards and five touchdowns. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound receiver can do so many things that could give the Raiders headaches.

Jackson will watch Flowers“very often on Sundays, so Jack Jones and the Raiders defense have to be ready for him.
