MBBS course in Chhattisgarh to be offered in Hindi from this session

From the current academic session, MBBS course in Chhattisgarh will be offered in Hindi medium, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced on Saturday.

Speaking at his residence on the occasion of Hindi Day, Sai stressed that the implementation is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of imparting medical education in Hindi, a goal he highlighted at a rally in Uttar Pradesh in 2022. First-year students will have access to Hindi textbooks from the 2024-25 session, and the health ministry has been tasked with arranging the necessary books and study materials.

The move is part of a broader effort to reform the education system, moving away from Macaulay’s colonial-era education policy. Sai stressed that the change would particularly benefit students in rural Hindi-medium schools, enabling them to excel in medical courses and become competent doctors.
