Leeds and Burnley remain as the top two contenders in the Championship betting and their clash at Elland Road will be a first opportunity for either side to send a statement in their quest for a return to the Premier League.

A frantic 3-3 draw with Portsmouth on the opening weekend of the season is now a distant memory for Leeds, who have kept three consecutive clean sheets after building on a goalless draw at West Brom with 2-0 wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Hull.

Daniel Farke’s side remain unbeaten and appear to have adapted well to the loss of Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray to the Premier League.

Burnley represent their toughest test yet but, having overcome the pitfalls with nine goals in wins over Luton and Cardiff, they have since stalled.

The Clarets managed just four shots and hit the target just once in a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland, while they forced just three shots on target in a 1-1 draw at home to Lancashire rivals Blackburn despite enjoying 73 per cent possession.

With a long injury list to contend with, Scott Parker’s side could improve over the course of the season but could finish second at Elland Road.

There are five more EFL games to take place on Sky Sports+ at 12:30pm and goals are likely to be few and far between as League Two rivals AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons clash at Plough Lane.

Wombles have won three of their last four games 1-0, including League Two fixtures with Cheltenham and Fleetwood, while the Dons are yet to hit the ground running with three of their last four league games featuring under 2.5 goals.
