Broncos players lash out at potential Pittsburgh Steelers fan takeover in Denver

Broncos players lash out at potential Pittsburgh Steelers fan takeover in Denver

The Pittsburgh Steelers took over Atlanta a week ago, forcing the Falcons to use a silent scoring system in their own stadium. According to Vivid Seats’ fan forecast, Empower Field at Mile High is expected to seat 55% of the Steelers’ crowd, an even higher percentage than it did a week ago in Atlanta.

Still, Broncos players aren’t worried about the Steelers coming into Denver and taking over the stadium. Linebacker Alex Singleton believes the Broncos have better fans than the Falcons, so they won’t let a stadium takeover happen.

“We’ll be fine,” Singleton said. “I think we have better fans than the Falcons.”

Former Steelers cornerback Levi Wallace, who played in Pittsburgh for two seasons, knows how fans travel. He expects a heavy dose of Steelers fans. For the Broncos, though, it will be easier if they are forced to do a silent count. They have been to Seattle before, so they have that built into their game plan.

“Steelers fans travel very well,” Wallace said. “Some of the best fans in the NFL, so I’m sure they’ll travel well here and I think it’s going to be a fun, exciting and electric place for sure.”

Right tackle Mike McGlinchey said he didn’t think crowd control would be as big of a problem as it was for the Falcons. The Broncos are even handing out orange towels that mimic a Terrible towel to try to drown out a potential sea of gold towels.
