Heartfelt Trump message brings 8-year-old boy with rare brain disease to tears

An 8-year-old boy who suffers from a rare brain disease and growth hormone deficiency got the surprise of a lifetime this week from former President Donald Trump.

According to conservative podcaster Kevin Smith, the boy, Liam, received a birthday message from the former president.

Watch below to see Liam’s reaction when he opened his gift:

As seen above, Trump’s message of hope inspired tears in Liam.

“Dear Liam, Happy 8th Birthday,” the message read. “Mrs. Trump and I hope you enjoy this special occasion surrounded by the love of your family and friends. We are so encouraged by the strength and determination you have shown throughout your young life, and we send you our love and best wishes as you continue to fight.”

“Remember you are never alone and we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for continued self-care and good health. God bless you and your family. Stay strong. Sincerely,” the message continued.

When Liam’s mother asked him who signed the letter, he replied, “Donald Trump.”

“Did he know it was your birthday coming up?” his mother insisted.

Liam nodded in agreement and burst into tears again.

“What do you say to him?” his mother then asked him.

“Thank you!” Liam replied through tears, while making a sign of “I love you.”

According to Smith, Trump never asked to be credited for sending Liam a birthday message. He simply did so discreetly, never expecting Liam’s mother to then share the message with the world.

“This was sent to me by Liam’s family,” he explained in a tweet. “Donald Trump didn’t ask for credit for this. He just did it. Because he’s a good person. No matter what the media tries to say.”

According to Snopes, this is just one of many acts of kindness Trump has quietly performed over the years.

“Trump gave $10,000 to a bus driver who saved a suicidal woman, gave $25,000 to a U.S. Marine sergeant arrested and detained in Mexico, and allowed an Orthodox Jewish family to use his private jet to seek urgent medical treatment for their young son,” Snopes reported last year.

The latter event occurred in July 1988 when the Ten family had to take their 3-year-old son, Andrew, to New York to receive treatment for a rare respiratory disease.

“Because Andrew required constant support from a ventilator and a life-support machine, but commercial airlines could not accommodate this equipment, the family could not travel to New York on a conventional flight,” Snopes notes.

But everything went well when the boy’s father, Harold, somehow contacted Trump (it’s unclear how) and asked to use his private jet.

When asked later why he thought Trump allowed his family to use his jet, Ten speculated that it was because Trump was a good guy.

“Because he’s a good man,” Harold explained. “He has three children of his own and he knows what it means to be a parent.”

Trump’s penchant for righteousness was also evident during his previous presidency. Recall that he never took a salary. In the meantime, he let his fortune decline by $700 million.

As previously noted, factors contributing to the losses include an aging portfolio, the COVID pandemic, and damage to Trump’s image from the January 6 riots. Left-wing attacks on Trump have also taken a toll on his business empire.

“The fallout from the Capitol assault has strained his relationships with brokers and lenders,” Bloomberg reported in 2021. “At least $590 million in loans are coming due in the next four years, more than half of them personally guaranteed by Trump, and his scrapyard of bankrupt companies has only grown more crowded.”
