Broncos players go off on potential Pittsburgh Steelers fan takeover in Denver

Broncos players go off on potential Pittsburgh Steelers fan takeover in Denver

The Pittsburgh Steelers took over Atlanta a week ago, forcing the Falcons to use a silent count in their own stadium. According to Vivid Seats’ Fan Forecast, Empower Field at Mile High is expected to skew 55 percent toward Steelers fans, an even higher percentage than a week ago in Atlanta.

Yet, Broncos players are not worried about the Steelers entering Denver and taking over the stadium. Linebacker Alex Singleton says he thinks the Broncos have better fans than the Falcons; thus, they will not let a stadium takeover happen.

“We’ll be fine,” Singleton said. “I think we have better fans than the Falcons.”

Former Steelers cornerback Levi Wallace, who played in Pittsburgh for two seasons, knows all about how the fanbase travels. He expects a heavy dose of Steelers fans. For the Broncos, though, it will be easier if they are forced into a silent count. They went on the road to Seattle already, and so they have that built into their game plan.

“Steelers fans travel really well,” Wallace said. “Some of the best fans in the NFL, and so I’m sure they’re going to travel well here and I think the place will be fun and exciting and electric for sure.”

Right tackle Mike McGlinchey says he does not envision the crowd takeover being as much of an issue as it was for the Falcons. The Broncos are even handing out orange towels that mimic a Terrible Towel to try and drown out a potential sea of Gold towels.
