Richarlison’s former assistant has filed a lawsuit.

Tottenham striker Richarlison is reportedly facing legal action from his former personal assistant.

The Brazilian striker arrived in English football in the summer of 2017 when he joined Watford from Fluminense.

A year later, he followed former Watford manager Marco Silva to Everton, where he spent four years.

After keeping the Toffees in the Premier League with 11 goals in the 2021/22 campaign, he signed for Tottenham for an initial £50million in 2022.

Now his former personal assistant Reginaldo Pereira – who accompanied Richarlison during his early days in English football – has taken legal action against the Spurs striker, according to a report in The Sun.

The report says Mr Pereira is claiming £95,000 for unfair dismissal.

In legal documents seen by The Sun, Pereira claims he faced “long working hours and excessive demands” as well as “verbal abuse, particularly from Richarlison’s father”.

Pereira also claims that Richarlison failed to register him and pay his £500 weekly wage into his account.

He claims he was then sent “without notice” back to the player’s home cinema room and was left “physically and emotionally broken”.

In the legal documents, Pereira wrote: “After being fired, I had to seek medical treatment to deal with the negative impacts of this toxic environment.

“My wife filed for divorce. I am emotionally distraught and unemployed.”

A spokesperson for Richarlison denied Pereira’s allegations in a statement to The Sun, adding: “We will not be making any further comment regarding these proceedings.”

The Brazilian forward will miss tomorrow’s north London derby against Arsenal after suffering an injury last month which is believed to have kept him out for “a few weeks”.

He has made two Premier League appearances for Spurs this season, but is yet to score his first goal of the campaign.
