Andrew Wiggins’ Brother Shares Heartfelt Message After Heartbreaking News

The Andrew Wiggins Enterprise confirmed Friday that Mitchell Wiggins, the father of Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins, has died at the age of 64.

In recent years, rumors have swirled about Mitchell Wiggins’ declining health, which has forced his son to spend some time away from the Warriors. The Warriors forward recently canceled an offseason trip to China due to family reasons and is going through a very difficult time.

Via Andrew Wiggins Enterprise on Instagram: “RIP Mitchell Wiggins. A beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend. May his soul rest in peace. His legacy and impact will live on forever!”

In an Instagram post, Andrew’s brother Nick Wiggins shared a heartfelt message for his father.

Via Nick Wiggins: “My whole life I just wanted to be LIKE YOU. I’ve never felt pain like this before. Sometimes I question God and ask Him why. This is one of those times. I love you, Dad.”

Nick Wiggins signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2015 but was released before he could play a game. The 6-foot-5 point guard played college basketball at Wichita State.

This is heartbreaking news for the Wiggins family. As in recent years when he has had to take time off work to care for his father, Andrew Wiggins undoubtedly has the full support of the Warriors organization during this time.
