Giriraj Singh alleges ‘community-specific conspiracy’ behind Kanpur train derailment plot, slams Congress for silence

Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Sunday alleged that there was a conspiracy behind the attempt to derail a train on the Delhi-Howrah route near Kanpur, saying there was a “preparation for civil war” underway and terming it a terrorist plot involving a specific community.

In an exclusive interview with IANS, the BJP MP from Begusarai strongly condemned those responsible for such incidents and conspiracies.

“Iron was found in some places, gas cylinders in others. In some places, the rail bolts were tampered with. Thanks to the efficiency of the railway, a major incident was avoided, but this is part of a conspiracy of a specific community,” he said.

Giriraj Singh criticizes Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge

Alleging involvement of individuals from a particular community and criticising Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge for their silence, he said, “But Rahul Gandhi will not speak on this issue. Mallikarjun Kharge is silent for the sake of poll politics. They are indulging in appeasement. This incident is a warning to the people that preparations for civil war are on, with the first attack being on trains.”

The remarks came after a locomotive driver spotted a small gas cylinder on the tracks near Prempur railway station and stopped the train, averting a possible disaster. The goods train was en route from Kanpur to Prayagraj via the Circular Line.

Soon after the incident, the police and railway authorities launched an investigation. Earlier, 20 coaches of the Sabarmati Express had derailed near the Panki industrial area.

Singh also lashed out at MP Rahul Gandhi for his comments abroad, asking why he is speaking negatively about India, Prime Minister Modi and the Sikh community. He referred to the 1984 riots, asking how the community could forget such events.

He also accused Gandhi of allying with the miscreants and hinted at a political alliance with the National Conference, saying the Congress had promised to restore Article 370 if it came to power.

On Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, Singh called him a “master of drama” and accused him of neglecting the public while spending lavishly on sprucing up his residence despite his earlier promises. He alleged that Kejriwal is manipulating situations to maintain power in Delhi while portraying himself as the “son of Haryana” for political gain.
