I found 2 crazy storage deals for your Xbox, just in time to make room for Starfield Shattered Space

Starfield Shattered Space is just a few weeks away from its console release, and the system requirements indicate that you’ll need around 125GB of space to accommodate the planet Va’ruun’kai, which has 50 new slots. If you haven’t yet purchased additional storage for your Xbox Series S or Xbox Series X, now is the perfect time, as Best Buy is offering two fantastic deals on storage options, one of which is right on-theme! First up, we have the WD_Black C50 1TB Expansion Card for $129.99 (which if you want, there are only a few hours left at this price) and the Seagate Starfield Special Edition 2TB Gaming Hard Drive for $79.99. These two options vary greatly in what they offer, so read carefully before making your choice!

Which one should I choose? WD_BLACK C50 or Seagate hard drive?

There are two clear differences between these two storage options before we even get to the size, and that’s how they’ll run your games. While the Starfield Special Edition hard drive has the Starfield Constellation logo on it, you can’t use it to play Starfield. What you’ll have to do is move your other games onto it to make room for Starfield and Starfield: Shattered Space. That being said, it’s a very aesthetically pleasing hard drive, and you get 2TB for $79.99, which is incredible value. Think of all the space you’ll have for screenshots, huh? But seriously, I used a Seagate drive for a few years and it’s a perfectly acceptable way to store games because the transfer speeds for moving them from the hard drive to your console and back are super fast. It’s just a matter of clicking a few extra buttons.

The WD_Black, while you only get 1TB for your money, is the more convenient option of the two and will allow you to play Xbox Series X|S optimized games right off of it. You plug it in and forget it exists, except watch the storage space on your console grow. I was always very stubborn about buying Seagate expansion cards at launch due to their crazy price. However, since the WD_Black line came into the mix, I caved and bought one last year and haven’t looked back. No more deleting stuff from my Xbox Series S to make room! In the words of the great Todd Howard, “it just works.”

The choice between the two comes down to personal preference. I would say that if you are a huge Starfield fan and have the other accessories, then this hard drive is perfect to complete the package. This device connects externally to your console to give you more space for your game files. It is a great device for anyone looking to play older Xbox games or archive modern games on the Series X or Series S.
