Michigan State TEs Coach Brian Wozniak Talks Week 3 Win, Boston College and More

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State was able to field a number of tight ends in its win over Prairie View A&M on Saturday.

It’s a room that will need to continue to thrive, now more than ever, as the Spartans enter their toughest stretch of the season, beginning with a road game against Boston College.

Michigan State tight ends coach Brian Wozniak spoke to the media Tuesday, discussing his group, the game against Prairie View A&M, the Spartans’ upcoming game against the Eagles and more.

You can watch his press conference below:

Below is a partial transcript of his press conference:

Q: Is there any noise in the crowd today?

Wozniak: “Yeah, I’m getting ready for it. They (Boston College) have a pretty cool tradition with this ‘Red Bandana,’ and we read that it was sold out. So, I’m definitely getting ready for it. And I’m really, personally, excited to see it. It’s a pretty cool tradition.”

Q: What did you think of your guys after three games now?

Wozniak: “Yeah, I think it’s like every position, you know, every side of the ball, it’s OK. We did some things well, we did some things we need to improve on. And we talk about it as a team — the process of every day being a day to get better. And I think there’s certain areas we need to attack and certain areas we need to continue to explore for space at tight end, which is fun.”

Q: What are some of the things you like so far and what are some of the things you’re trying to explore further?

Wozniak: “I think it’s natural, like in the running game, sometimes we’re too aggressive with our hat. I’d rather keep our hat out of the box, be good with our hands. There’s a few things about coverage, recognizing when you can go a little bit quicker and all that. But really, it’s little things across the board.”
