It’s time again to think about fall producing and decorating with pumpkins, corn stalks and more, and across the region, there are plenty of farm markets and corn maze activities ready to celebrate the season.

Here’s a listing of farm markets and fall activities in Somerset County and neighboring locations. Note that many of these locations only accept cash, checks or Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers for payment, so check out their listings in advance of your visit.

Speigle’s Rolling Hills Farm, 308 Rolling Hill Road, Boswell. 814-629-5370. Opens for the season on Sept. 21, offering pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, hay bales, mums, farm animals, children’s games and more. Free admission, but purchases are cash only. Hours are 4-7 pm Monday to Friday and from 10 am to 6 pm Saturday. Closed on Sunday.

Children age 2 and under admitted free. Also selling locally grown fall décor, including pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, straw bales, Indian corn and more. Pumpkin and apple pie ice cream and hot apple dumplings offered for sale. Food trucks will sell food on weekends. Hayride tickets also available at 1 pm on weekends and from 9 am to 5 pm on weekends. Fayette County

Hayrides available on weekends through Nov. 3, admission price includes hayride to the pumpkin patch, pick your own pumpkin, corn stalk mazes, animal barn, bonfires, kids’ activities and more. Children age 2 and under admitted free. Food concessions also available. Haunted corn maze is open Friday and Saturday through the end of October. Bedford County

Ridgetop Orchards2953 Valley Road, Fishertown. 814-839-4181. Offers many varieties of apples for sale on the porch, as well as honey, seasonal cider and fruit butters, preserves and salsas. New for 2024, they will have a Pumpkin Playground with a corn pit, tic-tac-toe and other activities. Pumpkins for sale, too. The market is open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday, and will open on Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm, starting Sept. 29 through Oct. 27.
