Fever’s Caitlin Clark Sends Special Message to Boyfriend After Landing Butler Basketball Job

Caitlin Clark is on her way to becoming one of the greatest women’s basketball players of all time. Clark, despite being a rookie, has turned the Indiana Fever around and turned them into a playoff team, all while being one of the best point guards in the league, despite their turnover issues. But Clark isn’t the only one making strides in the world. Her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, has also made huge strides in his career. get a new job as an assistant coach with the Butler University men’s basketball program.

Of course, in a relationship, one person’s victory is also the other’s victory. The Fever star wasted no time in congratulating her partner on his new job, giving McCaffery a shout-out on her Instagram Story.

“Yayy!! so happy for you 🤍 @connor_m30,” Clark wrote.

The good news for the couple is that the job McCaffery has taken won’t require him to be away from his partner. Butler University is located in Indianapolis, Indiana, the same city where Caitlin Clark’s Fever studio is located. Distance isn’t always the easiest thing to handle in a relationship, so McCaffery’s new job won’t require a major adjustment on either side of the relationship.

McCaffery and Clark met on campus (Iowa) and haven’t been far apart since. The former was a two-sport star for Iowa; as the son of Iowa men’s basketball head coach Fran McCaffery, he was a standout for the university’s baseball and basketball programs. Clark, meanwhile, was turning heads as a freshman with the Hawkeyes, making history at the university in the process despite not winning a national title.

Last year, McCaffery took an assistant coaching job with the Indiana Pacers, perhaps foreshadowing Clark’s eventual arrival as the savior of the Pacers’ WNBA franchise. Today, both continue to make names for themselves as Indianapolis sports icons. Maybe one day, McCaffery will progress enough in his coaching career to become the head coach of a major basketball program.
