Fox Sports to Host Podcast on Coach Ed Thomas Murder

Fox Sports announced a new podcast covering the murder and legacy of coach Ed Thomas in a tweet on September 18.

The podcast, titled “Tom Rinaldi Presents: Sacred Acre,” will be available Thursday, September 19, wherever listeners get their podcasts.

The famed Aplington-Parkersburg football coach was shot and killed on June 24, 2009, by a former player in the high school’s weight room.

Iowa’s News Now is running a Coach of the Week series, in which we highlight a local coach in honor of Ed Thomas. This week’s Ed Thomas Coach of the Week is Jamie Marshall of Wahlert.
