Aman At Sea and Cruise Saudi Build First 600-Foot Aman At Sea Yacht

Known for the tranquil escapes offered by its luxurious sanctuaries, Aman will welcome guests aboard the 50-suite motor yacht Aman at Sea, with itineraries set to begin in 2027.

Following the signing of a joint venture contract with Cruise Saudi Managing Director Mr. Fawaz Farooqui and a shipbuilding contract with Italian shipbuilder T. Mariotti SpA in late 2023, the luxury motor yacht Aman is designed to deliver the ultimate luxury cruising experience.

Vlad Doronin, CEO of Aman, said: “With 35 branded hotels, resorts and residences across 20 destinations, Aman at Sea marks a new direction for the brand and the opportunity to integrate Aman’s exceptional design, which is an integral part of the brand’s ethos, into an entirely new setting.” Other remarks highlighted the significance of the deal as an exciting milestone in Aman’s partnership with T. Mariotti.

Financing and supervision of construction

The funding was granted by a pool led by Intesa Sanpaolo and coordinated by Nanni Grazzini. Sponsor of the Made in Italy campaign and an industrial power in operation since 1928, Mariotti contributes significantly to the growth of the city of Genoa, a center of maritime activity.

Jonathon Wilson has been selected to lead the yacht’s development and implementation with the title of General Manager of Aman at Sea. Wilson is expected to work closely with Doronin to ensure a proper connection to the brand.

The yacht will measure 600 feet (183 meters) and will be Mariotti’s first new yacht to be dual-fuel powered, using marine diesel and methanol propulsion systems. These systems will underscore Aman’s commitment to sustainability while enhancing the onboard experience for guests.

The yacht will feature 50 spacious and luxurious suites, featuring private balconies. Guests will be offered a variety of dining options, including an informal all-day dining restaurant, international gourmet restaurants and a relaxed club and lounge. The Aman Spa will reflect the serenity and spaciousness of their resorts. An expansive beach club, two helipads and a Japanese garden continue to highlight the brand’s Zen-inspired properties on board.

Superyacht master designer SINOT Yacht Architecture & Design, luxury yacht outfitter De Wave Group and electrical engineering expert Ortec Santamaria will provide their respective contributions to the details of the Aman at Sea yacht.

Laying the keel

In July 2024, the Aman at Sea’s keel laying ceremony took place at the T. Mariotti shipyard in San Giorgio di Nogaro, Italy. Wilson was joined by Marco Ghiglione, CEO of T. Mariotti, to witness the 200-ton steel block being lowered into place. As is tradition, freshly minted coins were placed on the steel, ensuring good luck for the ship’s future.

Ghiglione announced: “The laying of the keel of the world’s most luxurious yacht brings to life the design ambitions that our team has produced through its efforts to date.”

Boats currently in service at Aman Resorts

Many Aman properties are nestled near beautiful bodies of water and feature Aman boats that are tailored to the environment. None, no matter how luxurious, quite come close to the level of space and luxury provided for Aman at Sea.

Amandira, a custom-built 170-foot (52-meter) twin-masted Phinisi sailing and dive boat, is the privilege of ten guests in five spacious cabins served by a 14-member crew consisting of two chefs, a dive master and a massage therapist. Equipped with indoor and outdoor dining and relaxation areas, a television and a library, the yacht is geared towards aquatic adventure, culinary excellence and a high level of service. The yacht is handcrafted from local hardwoods by skilled craftsmen from Konjo. Amandira sails the seas surrounding the Indonesian islands of Alor, Triton Bay, Raja Ampat, Komodo National Park and the Spice Islands.

The Aman Venice in Italy offers guests a waterfront view of this famous city with a variety of excursions on a variety of watercraft. One of the most notable is the 1930s deco-style launch designed and built for the Aman Venice, perfect for an evening aperitif accompanied by ciccetti while cruising the lagoon.

A visit to the coastal sanctuary of Amanzoe in Porto Heli, Greece, can take a couple on the Wally One motorboat for an island exploration, or a full-day customizable charter aboard the Pershing 62.

From Sri Lanka to Thailand to Laos, Cambodia, China, Indonesia and the Philippines, Aman resorts connect to the sea with a wide range of traditional or indigenous boats and modern artworks. Soon, cruises aboard Aman at Sea yachts will offer a new way to relax in the bliss of Aman Zen, with initial itineraries along the Red Sea.
