Tuscaloosa area high school top performers week of Sept. 16-21

Here are the Tuscaloosa-area top performers from Week 4 of high school football action along with top performers from high school volleyball in the past week.

Soccer

Berry’s Lake Norris had 13 carries for a total of 102 yards and three touchdowns in a 50-18 win against South Lamar.

Berry’s Ace Norris completed 7 of 9 passes for 233 yards and three passing touchdowns. He carried the ball six times for 24 yards.

Berry’s Kemari Hollingsworth had two touchdown receptions. He caught three passes for a total of 132 yards.

Bibb County’s Jordan Leverette completed 4 of 7 passes for a total of 64 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another in a 42-8 win against Holt.

Bibb County’s Antonious Steele and Jay Harris also had touchdown runs.

Bibb County’s Kavon Holman and Macain McMillan each caught passes for touchdowns.

Central’s Pherron Dancy recorded seven tackles and a sack in a 17-10 loss to Northridge.

Central’s Armani White was 9 of 12 passes and threw for a touchdown.

Fayette County’s Zamarion Nalls scored three touchdowns, carrying the ball 25 times for a total of 133 yards in a 28-7 win against Haleyville.

Fayette County’s Jake Rickman completed 9 of 16 passes for 106 yards. He was intercepted once.

Fayette County’s Maurice Harris led the defense with five tackles, one assist, two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Gordo’s Cam Lark carried the ball 13 times for a total of 185 yards and four touchdowns in a 61-18 win against Midfield.

Gordo’s CJ Lark carried the ball 10 times for a total of 83 yards and one rushing touchdown and made three receptions for a total of 71 yards and one touchdown.

Gordo’s Jase Neel completed 7 of 14 passes for three touchdowns and 139 yards, and ran six times for a total of 120 yards.

Gordo’s Ranier Russell had a touchdown reception.

Gordo’s Ryder Robinson recorded six tackles, two quarterback pressures and one sack.

Hillcrest’s Jordan Chambers-Smith scored on a 56-yard touchdown reception from Bryson Kimbrough in a 37-16 loss at Hewitt-Trussville. Kimbrough completed 9 of 19 passes for 221 yards and threw one interception. Chambers-Smith ended the game with three catches for a total of 107 yards.

Hillcrest’s Jacobi Harris scored we have 19-yard run. He rushed for a total of 88 yards on 12 carries.

Hillcrest’s Christian Richey led the ground game with 13 carries for a total of 99 yards.

Hillcrest’s Hudson Hall kicked a 22-yard field goal.

Holt’s Antwon Long scored the team’s lone touchdown in a 42-8 loss to Bibb County.

Holy Spirit’s Alex Tant passed for 130 yards and, playing defense made an interception, in a 13-8 win against Francis Marion.

Holy Spirit’s Nygel Seay rushed for 80 yards and ran for a touchdown.

Holy Spirit’s Cobi Stephens forced a fumble and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Holy Spirit’s Giles Snyder made eight tackles, four of those for losses, and he recovered a fumble.

Northridge’s Rowdy Christensen threw for a 30-yard touchdown pass to Colin Kapilovic in a 17-10 win over Central.

Northridge’s Brylon Tubbs rushed for a touchdown.

Northside’s Jackson Rhodes completed 26 of 39 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-28 loss to Shelby County.

Northside’s Evan Taylor returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown and made a touchdown reception. He ended the game with six receptions for a total of 162 yards.

Northside’s Bennett Green ran for a touchdown and made a touchdown reception.

Northside’s Miller Robison caught a touchdown pass.

Sipsey Valley’s Ayden Abernathy ran for three touchdowns in a 40-28 win against Jemison.

Sipsey Valley’s LJ Cormier ran for one touchdown and passed for another.

Sipsey Valley’s J-Man Jolly rushed for one touchdown and caught a pass for another.

South Lamar’s Mason Hardin ran for four yards for a touchdown and ended the game with 11 carries for a total of 66 yards in a 50-18 loss to Berry.

South Lamar’s Jamison Whiteside scored on a 5-yard run, and Zeke Colvin scored on a 4-yard run.

Tuscaloosa Academy’s Ever Sikes intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown in a 49-14 win over Greene County.

Tuscaloosa Academy’s Preston Lancaster, Ellis Hamiter, Taylor Thompson, Kaleb Colgrove, Mark Norris and Mason Corder each scored touchdowns.

Winfield’s Brady May completed 6 of 6 passes for a total of 42 yards and one passing touchdown and ran for another in a 43-28 win against Phil Campbell.

Winfield’s Kyson Key rushed for two touchdowns. Blaine Bowen carried the ball for a touchdown run, and Garrett Beasley made two touchdown receptions, including one from Bowen. Beasley caught all three passes he was thrown in the game.

University Charter School’s Anna Pezent won the Gardendale Invitational with a time of 22:04.

Volleyball

Wednesday, September 18

American Christian Academy’s Beautiful Cormier notched 18 kills, 13 assists, five blocks and six service aces in a sweep of wins against Holt and Bibb County.

ACA’s Raegan Morrison ended the matches with a total of 31 assists, seven kills and four aces, while Maggie Holt had 19 aces and seven kills and Mia Ridgeway 14 aces.

North River Christian Academy’s Ramsi Kittrell had 19 assists and two service aces against Southern Academy.

North River Christian Academy’s Emma Champion’s play included eight kills and four aces.

Tuesday, September 17

North River Christian Academy’s Aylana Fuller made five kills, three blocks and had four service aces against Coosa Valley.

North River Christian Academy’s Layne Parker made seven Kills and two aces; Ramsi Kittrell had 19 assists and two kills; and Maura Dent made four digs and three aces.
