Free help offered to improve numeracy skills

Surrey residents are being offered the chance to improve their numeracy skills through a series of free online courses.

Delivered by the government and administered by Surrey County Council, Multiply courses can be tailored to suit other demands and hobbies.

Although most courses are taught online, some may also be taught face-to-face in a classroom.

In addition to individuals, companies can also propose employees.

Clare Curran, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Lifelong Learning, said: “Multiply courses are another tool in our skills toolkit to help improve economic outcomes for Surrey residents and businesses.

“Strong numeracy skills are essential to helping residents reach their potential, and businesses with a workforce that is confident in their numbers can increase productivity, boost profits and improve employee retention.”

A full list of available courses can be found on the council’s website.
