Couple arrested after children found covered in faeces in 'completely disgusting' flat, police say

(Gray News) – An Oklahoma couple has been arrested after police allegedly found several children locked in a room covered in feces.

A neighbor called 911 after seeing two young boys, about three and four years old, naked at an upstairs window, KOCO reported.

When they arrived, officers said they were almost overwhelmed by the smell of feces and urine inside the apartment.

Officers said Dakota Dodd, 24, led officers to the bedroom where the boys were found.

“Feces on the walls, feces on the children. It was a completely disgusting scene,” said Staff Sgt. Gary Knight of the Oklahoma City Police Department.

The room was connected to a bathroom, but the door was locked from the other side.

Dodd allegedly admitted to locking the boys in the bedroom for more than 12 hours a day, KOCO reported.

Police said conditions were so harsh that crime scene investigators later wore hazmat suits to protect themselves.

There was a third child at home, who is Dodd’s biological child.

However, all three children belong to the mother, Aubrianna Freeman, 22.

Dodd and Freeman were both arrested and face multiple charges of child neglect.

It is currently unclear who is looking after them.
