TL;DR

  • Recently, Google rolled out a new exclusive Google Meet feature for the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
  • This feature allows you to use both the front and interior cameras to view two live feeds at once.
  • Additionally, you can display the same feed on both indoor and outdoor screens, allowing anyone around you to interact with the call.

In our hyperconnected world, video calls are an integral part of everyday life. Most of the time, you’re on a call alone, but sometimes, you’re doing it in a group with many other people physically present in the same space. In these situations, it can be tricky, as everyone has to huddle around your laptop, or worse, your smartphone. Luckily, Google has a solution to this problem, exclusive to its new Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

With Google Meet on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, you can now use both the inside and front cameras to create a dual feed. In other words, the people you’re chatting with on the video call will be able to see you through the inside camera, and then see what’s happening in front of you on the front camera.

This can be useful even if you’re alone. For example, if you’ve just moved into a new apartment, you could give your parents a virtual tour of the new place, allowing them to see both the apartment and your face as you explain things to them. Or, you could spend a day at the pool with the kids and be able to show your best friend the kids jumping in the pool and your smiling face as they do so.

Additionally, the aforementioned group will no longer need to invade your personal space to see what is happening on the call. You will be able to position yourself in view of the interior camera and see the video call on the interior screen. Simultaneously, the group will be able to sit facing the front selfie camera and watch that same feed on the exterior screen. Meanwhile, the people participating in the video call will be able to see everyone clearly.

This nifty new Google Meet feature is now available to everyone, including those with work and personal Google Workspace accounts.
