Michigan man allegedly shot at vehicle during road rage, stabbed co-worker

MACOMB COUNTY, MI – A Michigan man is accused of shooting at and stabbing a co-worker during a road rage incident in Macomb County.

Lequan Denelle Brown, 47, has been charged with assault with intent to murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and felony firearm.

Brown is accused of shooting at a co-worker near Van Dyke Avenue and I-696 after both left work in separate vehicles on Sept. 13. Later the same day, both men returned to work and Brown attacked the victim with a knife.

The victim sustained severe lacerations but is stable and has been released from the hospital.

“Our community will not tolerate acts of violence, whether in the workplace or on the road,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

“This assault is a reminder that road rage and aggressive behavior have no place in our society. We will hold individuals accountable for their actions to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone.”

Brown was arrested in 37th Warren District Court by District Court on Sept. 18. Bond was set at $500,000.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for 8:45 am on Oct. 1 and a preliminary exam is scheduled for Oct. 8.
