EgyptAir suspends flights to Lebanon due to ongoing conflict

In light of the escalation of the conflict In Lebanon, EgyptAir has announcement the cancellation of its flights from Cairo to Beirut scheduled for Tuesday, September 24.

THE canceled Flights include MS713, originally scheduled for 5:00 a.m., and MS709, scheduled for 9:15 a.m.

On its social media accounts, EgyptAir said These cancellations will remain in effect until the situation stabilizes. Travelers booked on these flights are encouraged to check their tickets by contacting the EgyptAir customer service center.

This decision follows a series Israeli airstrikes on September 23 targeting several Hezbollah sites in Lebanon. The country’s health ministry reported At least 356 people were killed in the airstrikes, including at least 24 children, and more than 1,000 people were injured, prompting hospitals to cancel non-urgent operations to focus on treating the wounded.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed They launched attacks on more than 300 Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah.

The people of Beirut have received evacuation messages sent via random SMS messages over the landline, urging them to leave areas where the Israeli Defense Forces believe Hezbollah is operating.

Lebanese Information Minister Ziad Makary, confirmed that many citizens received these warnings via a unified telephone messaging system of the Israel Defense Forces.

As tensions continue to escalate, it is unclear whether other flights will also be affected.
