Governor DeSantis on the State’s Response to the Tropical Threat

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to hold his first news conference Tuesday morning on the state’s response to the tropical threat.

On Monday, the governor declared a state of emergency for 41 Florida counties, including Lee, Collier and Charlotte.

“There is a significant threat of storm surge, coastal flooding and erosion, heavy rains and flash flooding, and high winds on the Florida Gulf Coast,” the order states.
