Nebraska softball team announces Big Ten schedule

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Athletics) – The Nebraska softball team announced its Big Ten schedule Tuesday. The Big Red’s conference schedule includes 22 total games spread across eight series. The Huskers will host four conference opponents and travel to four opponents.

Three of NU’s Big Ten opponents have qualified for the 2024 NCAA Tournament: Northwestern, Indiana and Washington. In addition to those three opponents, Nebraska will face Ohio State, Minnesota, Purdue, Iowa and Maryland in the Big Ten.

Nebraska will open conference play with a two-game series March 14-16 at Ohio State, with the teams agreeing to play a third game this weekend that will not count toward conference standings.

The Huskers will then open Big Ten play at home against the Minnesota Golden Gophers March 21-23 at Bowlin Stadium. Friday’s game will tip off at 5 p.m. CT, Saturday’s first pitch is set for 1 p.m. CT and Sunday’s finale will start at noon CT. NU will then host Purdue for games March 28, 29 and 30.

The Huskers will travel to Iowa City, Iowa, to face the Hawkeyes April 4-6 and to Evanston, Illinois, to face Northwestern April 11-13.

Nebraska hosts its only two-game series of the year against Indiana on Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19 before traveling to Seattle to face Washington April 25-27.

The Big Red will close out conference play with a home series against Maryland from May 2-4.

The 2025 Big Ten Tournament will take place May 7-11 and will be hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Last season, the Big Red set numerous attendance records, including hosting the five largest crowds in program history. The largest crowd, 2,691, came when the Huskers played Northwestern on April 27. The Big Red posted a 30-23 overall record and a 12-9 conference mark.

April 11-13 – at Northwestern – Evanston, Illinois.
April 18-19 – vs. Indiana – Bowlin Stadium (2-game series)
