WATCH: AJ Hinch’s epic one-liner kicked off massive Detroit Tigers champagne celebration

Manager AJ Hinch gave an awesome one-liner Friday night in the Detroit Tigers locker room to kick off a wild celebration at Comerica Park.

Hinch spoke after the Tigers’ 4-1 win over the Chicago White Sox snapped baseball’s longest playoff drought at nine seasons. The Tigers are 31-11 since Aug. 10 to turn an 11-game wild-card deficit into their first playoff appearance since 2014.

β€œIt’s gonna burn,” Hinch started. “This is called punching your ticket to October. Special teams do special things. And we got an opportunity to do something special. We ask a lot out of you guys, all year, all year we’ve asked a lot out of you guys to do something for the guy next to you.

“And when I asked you in the middle of the season, remember I asked you, what kind of team do you want to be? I guess you wanted to be a playoff team.”

Hinch’s last words came as he began to shake a champagne bottle, and players then started yelling and jumping in the middle of the locker room while spraying the first bottles of champagne everywhere.

Bally Sports Detroit television cameras captured the moment.
