Colts QB ruled out due to hip injury

play

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is out for the Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Richardson took a hit in the red zone late in the first quarter that left him clutching his left hip. He initially only left the game for a few games. On his first play on the field, he took another hit on a quarterback rush and took some time to get up. The second-year quarterback headed to the locker room after leaving the game following a second hard hit.

Indianapolis initially listed Richardson as suspect to return with a hip injury. With 10 minutes remaining in the first half, the Colts declared him out for the rest of the game.

The gunslinger has had some bad luck with injuries during the first few games of his NFL career. During his rookie season in 2023, Richardson suffered a concussion in Week 2 and a season-ending AC joint sprain in Week 5.

Early in the second quarter, Richardson was back on the Colts sideline running and testing his hip, according to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe. Backup quarterback Joe Flacco is still there for Indianapolis.
