K-Pop Fans Slam DJ Khaled’s Collaboration With SEVENTEEN to Keep Silent on Gaza War

DJ Khaled is angering fans of K-pop group SEVENTEEN after the group announced a collaboration on their upcoming album.

On Monday evening (September 30), the group teased their report on DJ Khaled on social media with a clip of the song and a message from the producer.

However, the announcement received a frosty response from fans of the group, collectively known as Carats, who opposed the collaboration due to DJ Khaled’s silence on the war in Gaza.

Khaled was born in America after his parents immigrated from areas of the occupied West Bank. He has faced heavy criticism for remaining silent on the war between Israel and Hamas.

“DJ Khaled is a Palestinian who never talks about Palestine,” one person wrote. “He’s the worst person to work with.”

“People should be informed why we don’t want any DJ Khaled involvement in the album,” added another. “This is not a simple anti-Western collaboration. there is a reason for this.

Other fans also mentioned Khaled’s ties to Sean “Diddy” Combs, in addition to his silence on the deadly conflict.

“Thank God someone said it!” a third person shared. “Don’t fall for it. DJ Khaled is not a good person. Her friendship with Diddy should be a pretty big red flag! Also, the fact that he is Palestinian and has remained SILENT about the GENOCIDE of his people. Hmm…I wonder why….

PBS Since Hamas launched the war on October 7, killing some 1,200 people and kidnapping 250 others, Israel’s retaliatory invasion of Gaza has killed more than 41,000 Palestinians and injured more than 95,000, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. Additionally, 1.9 million Palestinians have been forced to flee their homes.
