Southwest Las Vegas emergency room to host mass casualty drill

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The brand new emergency room at Southern Hills Hospital in Desert’s Edge will host a mass casualty drill Thursday morning.

The event will take place at the emergency room located on Blue Diamond Road, from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. According to a hospital press release, the training will give staff the opportunity to improve their preparedness for procedures. emergency.

Other regional agencies involved will include the Southern Nevada Health District, Metropolitan Police Department, Clark County Fire Department, AMR and Community Ambulance.

These agencies will simulate a mass casualty incident to practice coordinated, real-time communications, logistics and triage protocols.
