Britney Spears burned her hair and eyebrows in a fireplace test

Britney Spears says she inadvertently burned her hair, head and face during a heated incident.

Multiple outlets are reporting that the 42-year-old “Stronger” singer addressed the fire Monday on Instagram, although the post in question appears to have been deleted.

Spears said that in the spring, she attempted to light her fireplace — a job usually reserved for her security staff — and ended up losing her hair, eyelashes and eyebrows and suffering second- and third-degree burns.

The pop star was left to her own devices while her “partner,” as TMZ put it in an apparent nod to her beau Paul Richard Soliz, slept. Spears eventually put ice on her face, battled the pain for 7 hours, and took several Tylenols before falling asleep.

Just weeks after Spears and her third husband, Sam Asghari, settled their divorce, which he filed for in the summer of 2023 after 14 months of marriage, sources told TMZ in May that Spears was facing a ” grave danger.” They claimed Spears suffered from worsening mental health and substance abuse issues.

This month marks the one-year anniversary of Spears’ explosive memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which detailed her controversial relationship with the media, the most salacious elements of her first romance with Justin Timberlake, as well as the inner workings . of his guardianship for more than ten years.

Last August, news broke that the bestselling book would be getting a big screen treatment, directed by “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Wicked” filmmaker Jon Chu.

Spears said at the time that she was “excited to share with my fans that I have been working on a secret project with Marc Platt,” who Variety reported would be the producer.
