POLL: Would you pay £250 for a dining experience at Balmoral Castle? | Royal | News

Royal residences are often key tourist destinations, but King Charles is now opening one of his favorite residences for a unique experience.

Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland will give you your first chance to dine like a royal.

In an announcement from the estate, ‘An Evening at Balmoral’ will cost £250 per person and welcome guests to a seven-course meal.

Guests will enjoy an exclusive tour of the residence before their meal, with dishes inspired by the seven rooms seen during the tour.

The event will take place on select dates in November and December, and local produce will be used for a “specially curated” dining experience.

One of the dishes on offer includes a Hunting Stewart treacle tart with a homemade trifle. Guests will also be able to sample Balmoral Estate herb-crusted venison loin, local cheeses and Balmoral whisky.

This summer, Balmoral offered indoor tours priced at £100, selling out within 24 hours. It was the first time the castle had been open to the public since its construction in 1855.

The webpage for this winter’s event reads: “Join us for a ‘Special Evening at Balmoral’ this winter.” On arrival, you will be greeted by a traditional bagpipe player before experiencing an exclusive tour of the castle interior.

“Following the tour, you can then enjoy a specially curated seven-course gastronomic experience, inspired by the seven rooms you visit on the interior tour of the castle.

“The meal will be complemented by wine pairings and live music, served in our newly redesigned restaurant, creating a truly memorable experience.”

The iconic royal estate is where Queen Elizabeth II chose to spend her final moments and is a favored residence of the royal family.

Speaking to the Scottish Parliament in late September, King Charles said: “My late mother particularly valued her time at Balmoral, and it was there, in the place most loved, that she chose to spend her last days. »

And Charles followed in his mother’s footsteps by spending his summer vacation there this year.
