Naga Chaitanya calls Telangana minister’s comments on his divorce ‘ridiculous’

Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya slammed Telangana Congress minister Konda Surekha, in a statement, for commenting about his divorce with former spouse and actor, Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The minister alleged that BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) working president KT Rama Rao aka KTR played a role in the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha.

In a statement made on October 2, Chaitanya mentioned that it was painful to come to a decision about his divorce. He added that a mutual decision was taken after a lot of thought. He called Konda Surekha’s allegations ‘absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable’.

Chaitanya also revealed that he remained silent all the while respecting his former spouse Samantha and his family.

His statement read, “The decision of divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways. It was a decision made in peace, owing to our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults (sic).”

Here’s his statement:

Chaitanya addressed the rumors on his divorce and wrote, “However, there have been various baseless and completely ridiculous gossips on the matter so far. I have remained silent all this while out of deep respect for my earlier spouse as well as my family (sic ).”

Lashing out at minister Konda Surekha, he said, “Today, the claim made by Minister Konda Surekha garu is not only false, it is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Women deserve to be supported and respected. Taking advantage and exploiting personal life decisions of celebrities for the sake of media headlines is shameful (sic).”

Hours before Naga Chaitanya reacted, Samantha shared a statement asking the minister to ‘keep her name’ out it.

Here’s her statement:

On October 2, a video of minister Konda Surekha did the rounds on social media where she leveled serious allegations against BRS president KTR. She accused him of interfering in the personal lives of celebrities and his involvement in drug-related controversies.

Here’s her interview:

Addressing the reporters at an event, she said, “Many heroines have married quickly and exit the cinema field because of KTR’s impact on their lives.”

Soon after her interview went viral, veteran actor Nagarjuna, his actor-wife Amala Akkineni and son Akhil Akkineni expressed their displeasure over her personal comments on the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha.

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha announced their separation in October 2021, ending their four-year marriage. Earlier this year, in August, Naga Chaitanya got engaged to actor Sobhita Dhulipala.
