State Senator Gomez announces funding for new park project

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – State Senator Adam Gomez announced three grants to the Hampden District.

It’s all part of a nearly $28 million program to improve parks across the Bay State.

Chicopee will receive $500,000 for Sarah Jane Park.
Springfield, which will also receive $500,000 for Phase 2 of the Blunt Park project.
Magazine Park in Springfield receives $1 million.

This money will be used to improve football and baseball fields, install new playgrounds, splash pads, walking trails and much more.
