The original PlayStation is a timeless device, still relevant today in the era of PS5 Pro looming over the world – and a solo developer is hard at work releasing a new game for the beloved retro console.

Elias Daler recently unveiled a new project: a charming game adapted for the original Sony console. ‘Huge update,’ reveal reveals job bed. “I’m making a game for PS1. It works on a real console.” A retro-style image of the game is attached to the text and provides an instant touch of nostalgia. Daler also uploaded a video below the photo of the project running on a PlayStation, and sure enough, it actually seems to be working seamlessly so far.

According to Daler, the game will not only work on PS1 but also on PlayStation Portable and Vita. The project itself is “greatly inspired” by legendary mangaka Chiyomi “Nekojiru” Hashiguchi, and sounds like it mixes the scary with the cozy. “It will be totally comfortable,” says Daler. “There might be horror elements. And there will definitely be some mysterious things.” It’s certainly unique, judging by the way the developer describes it.

Daler says the game will be like Animal crossing And silent Hill “I had a baby” – a concoction I can safely say I’ve never encountered before. Although I’m not very familiar with Silent Hill, I’m a long-time fan of Nintendois a relaxing simulation series and I’m personally incredibly curious to see how it would play with more horror-aligned themes. The whole project is almost reminiscent of classic creepypastas, and I’m definitely here for it.

Luckily, those of us who are interested in Daler’s unique little gem will get to play it one day. “I will start releasing versions when the game becomes playable,” writes the developer, admitting that at the moment it is only in its “technical demo” and that it is not yet “very interesting” . There’s no word on when a public release will be available at this time, but I know I’ll be keeping an eye out for any news on this and dusting off my once abandoned Vita.
