Pizza Hut is giving away 1 million free pizzas

Reading is fundamental, but it can also be enriching.

Pizza Hut has announced plans to give away 1 million free pizzas as part of National Book Month. The Book It! The program will offer a free personal pizza to everyone, children or adults. And this time, you don’t even need to read a book (but why deprive yourself of this luxury?).

To get the free pie, you’ll need to pay online or through the company’s app and have a minimum purchase of $8. Use code BOOKIT40 to add the personal pan pizza to the order.

This marks Pizza Hut’s 40th year as a sponsor of National Book Month. Traditionally, children who met a certain reading goal received a certificate for free pizza through the Book It! program. This promotion adds to that.

The company estimates that since 1984, it has distributed more than 1.5 billion pizzas to young readers (kindergarten through sixth grade) through this program – and between 2013 and 2023, it has distributed more than 56 million .

If a personal pizza doesn’t fill you up, the company also bundles two large single-topping pizzas with breadsticks and contributes a portion of the price of that combination to the Book It! program.

“I am incredibly proud of what Book It! program has achieved over the past four decades,” Pizza Hut U.S. President Carl Loredo said in a press release. “It has inspired more than 70 million children to discover the magic of books, helping to develop a lifelong love of reading. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we’re excited to invite readers of all ages to rediscover the joy of reading, one book (and pizza) at a time.

The free pizza code is effective immediately and remains valid until the end of the month or until the chain has given away 1 million pizzas.
